Actually great condition ( but it's cast iron, after all)
These are called Sad Irons. They were what women pressed the family's clothing with, after heating them on their cooktop .
I think the name makes perfect sense, I be sad if I had to iron this way too!
Awesome piece of history! Great decor, conversation piece, even a doorstop.
