DVD "Maytime" (1923) Ethel Shannon, Harrison Ford,Clara Bow,Classic Silent Drama

This DVD is part of our Silent Gems Collection; all its films are in the public domain. Only 30% of the Silent Era films survive and virtually all of these have varying degrees of imperfections. We believe that it is better to show to the film lovers a hundred imperfect films now, than to make them wait for decades to see one perfectly restored film.
"Maytime (1923)" is a drama starring Harrison Ford, Ethel Shannon, Wallace MacDonald, William Norris, Clara Bow, Martha Mattox and others. In mid-19th century a woman from the nobility loves a man with a lower social position, but her overbearing father pushes her to marry her cousin.
By the standards of the average silent film "Maytime (1923)" has a very good quality and is perfectly watchable. A few seconds here and there show signs of nitrate damage. A couple scenes at the end are missing and a title card tells the rest of the story. The film has done better than 70% that are lost forever.
