Japanese Yamanaka Lacquerware vintage pen or pencil and paper holder. Yamanaka Lacquerware is known for its wood grain processing. The wood base over which lacquer is applied is made by hollowing out the wood in such a way the grain runs vertically. This creates robust vessels that are not easily distorted by drying. This item is very heavy, weighing 14 oz. Dimensions are 5.5" x 3.5" x 1.625". It is in overall very good condition. There are a few scuffs, as pictured.
