This is a vintage photo holder from the 1960s 'The Original San Diego Harbor Excursion'. This is a great piece of memorabilia. Would look great framed as decor on the wall. Image has a women in a fur coat with a man in a suit holding a bottle of champagne. Would make an excellent gift.

The image is mirroring the christening of ships, where a bottle of champagne is ceremoniously smashed against the ship's hull. Historically, this event often featured a prominent woman, sometimes in a fur coat, who would perform the christening.

The tradition dates back several centuries, but it became especially notable in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, it was common for the wife of a ship's sponsor, a notable figure, or a celebrity to perform the christening ceremony, often dressed elegantly.

Folded 8.5” x 6.5”
Open 8.5” x 12”

Has some staining from storage still in excellent condition for how old it is!
